Giuseppina Siciliano

Dr. Giuseppina Siciliano is an Ecological Economist specialised on the linkages between energy, environment and development. Since 2013 she has worked as Research Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies SOAS, University of London. At SOAS she has carried out research and fieldwork on large energy infrastructure development in Asia and Africa under an ESRC-funded project. She has also done research on the evaluation of policy and practice for sustainable nutrient management and water resources protection in UK and Chinese agro-ecosystems under a SAIN-DEFRA-funded project, as well as on European large scale land investments and the water-energy-food nexus. In addition, she works as an academic tutor for SOAS Masters Programmes in Sustainable Development, Agricultural and Environmental Economics.

Prior to joining SOAS, Giuseppina worked as Research Fellow in various academic institutions and non-profit organizations, such as Enel Foundation in 2012-2013, the IUAV University in Venice in 2010-2012, ECOSUR - Colegio de la Frontera Sur in Mexico in 2005-2006, the National Research Council of Italy in 2003-2005. Also, she was guest lecturer in Political Economy of the Environment at University of Siena in 2011-2012 and in Planning and Evaluation Techniques at IUAV University in Venice, Department of Design and Planning in Complex Environments in 2012-2013.

In GreeTS, Giuseppina works on Work Package 1 (theories, concepts and methods), contributes to Work Package 3 (energy), and co-organizes and conducts fieldwork in Vietnam and Cost Rica.
