Hessian University Award for Excellence in Teaching 2024 for Prof. Knodt, Lucas Flath, Niklas Klueh and Team
29.11.2024 von Michèle Knodt
Yesterday was a truly special day: Together with my esteemed colleagues Florian Steinke, Peter Niessen, and our dedicated teams, we had the privilege of receiving the Hessian University Award for Excellence in Teaching 2024!
The award was presented during a celebratory ceremony by Minister Timon Kremels from the Hessian Ministry for Science and the Arts (HMWK). This recognition reaffirms the importance of innovative and impactful teaching.
Our course, „Shaping the Energy Transition“, was honored as the Best Teaching in Hesse. In this interdisciplinary course, students tackle one of the greatest challenges of our time: making Germany climate-neutral by 2045.
A standout feature of the course is a custom-designed serious game in which students work in teams to develop and implement strategies, balancing economic, societal, and technological goals.
We are incredibly proud and deeply grateful for this recognition. It inspires us to continue creating innovative and meaningful learning experiences that empower our students to address real-world challenges.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this project possible!
