How to find us

The Institute of Political Science is located in the De-La-Fosse-Bau of the Residential Palace Darmstadt (S3|12), Campus Stadtmitte of the Technical University of Darmstadt.

You can reach the Institute on the 4th floor via the main entrance Marktplatz and the staircase on the left or via the elevator at the end of the arcades.

Darmstadt main station is served by ICE, IC, EC and Interregio trains on long-distance north-south routes (including ICE 4, 14, 26, 41, EC/IC 62, EC 213) and by Flixtrain (FLX 10).

In regional transport, Darmstadt is connected to the regional rail and express lines Frankfurt-Heidelberg and Mannheim (Main-Neckar-Bahn/RB67/68 and RE60), Wiesbaden/Mainz-Aschaffenburg (Rhein-Main-Bahn/RB75) and Darmstadt-Eberbach and Erbach (Odenwaldbahn/RB80 and 81) as well as the tram Bad Soden-Frankfurt-Langen-Darmstadt (S3).

You can reach Darmstadt via the A5 (Frankfurt am Main-Heidelberg/Basel) and A67 (Cologne/Wiesbaden-Mannheim) highways as well as the B3 (Langen-Bensheim) and B26 (Dieburg-Darmstadt) federal highways. Follow the signs in the direction of Darmstadt-Stadtmitte.

Frankfurt Airport is 25 km away and can be reached in approx. 20 minutes by car via the highway A5. The HEAG-Airliner shuttle bus (Terminal 1: Area B, Stop 14; Terminal 2: Directly at the exit) takes you comfortably and without a car from the airport to Darmstadt Central Station. Alternatively, airport transfers are offered by cab. The fare is approx. 41€ (TAM airport transfer, tel. +49 6151 44722).

You will find bus and tram stops as well as a cab rank in front of the main entrance to Darmstadt Central Station. Streetcar lines 1, 2 and 3 as well as several bus lines (e.g. K, F, FU, 671) take you to the “Schloss” station.

The Institute of Political Science can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot and about 10 minutes by bike (e.g. along Rheinstraße) from Darmstadt main train station.

In the city center there are several paid parking (opens in new tab) spaces and garages (e.g. Justus-Liebig-Garage, Q-Park Schlossgaragen Friedensplatz/Karolinenplatz, Q-Park Darmstadtium).
