Annual Retreat Brings Together International Relations Scholars in Otzenhausen
2025/06/17 by Markus Lederer

From June 13 to 15, members and guests of the International Relations research group gathered at the European Academy in Otzenhausen for their annual retreat.
The event offered a valuable opportunity to share ongoing research and engage in lively discussions on pressing issues in international politics. Topics included the role of think tanks in shaping climate legislation, stakeholder consultations within the European Commission, and international standards for prosecuting transnational organized crime.
The retreat also highlighted growing synergies with the research training group “Standards of Governance.” With overlapping members and shared conceptual interests, the chairs' research is increasingly aligning with that of the research training group – laying the groundwork for deeper collaboration at future retreats.
