At the invitation of the research group on transnational governance, Sarah Bush (Yale University) will be visiting the Institute of Political Science from June 12 to 16

Sarah Bush (Yale University) is author of the book “The Taming of Democracy Assistance: Why Democracy Promotion Does Not Confront Dictators” (Cambridge University Press), which has made a leading contribution to democracy promotion research. During her stay at TU Darmstadt, she co-organized (with Leonie Holthaus) the international workshop “Democracy promotion in theory and practice”. The workshop offered an opportunity to scholars and practitioners to reflect upon current research trends and challenges to democracy promotion. Professor Bush also taught a well-attended class on “Democracy promotion and its critics”.
