Rainer Müller is a research assistant at the chair for “Comparative Politics and European Integration” headed by Prof. Dr. Michèle Knodt. From 2016 to 2019 he worked in the BMBF-funded Kopernikus project ENavi, within the cluster “System Integration”. Since July 2020, work on this has been continued in the successor project Ariadne.
Ariadne is researching policy instruments that can be used to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. The instruments identified are then woven together to form a systemic and strategic framework thus identifying policy paths to meet the challenges of climate change. Rainer Müller's research focuses on the design of European energy and climate governance and its impact on energy transformation in the member states.
